Our Candles
wax & wicks: We use premium natural soy wax this is both renewable and biodegrable. Our wicks are lead-free and made with braided cotton and paper filaments.
fragrances: We use a combination of essential oils, natural fragrances and synthetic fragrances that are specifically formulated for candle making. This allows us to create a wider range as well as more complex scent combinations than if we were to use only essential or natural fragrances alone.
containers and labels: We use steel cans that are recyclable or reusable. All of our labels are either fully recyclable or made from tree-free and petrochemical-free materials.
shipping boxes and packaging: All of our shipping boxes and packing tape are fully recyclable. The padded mailers used for our discovery sets are made from biodegradable polymers and modified cornstarch, and are 100% compostable. Our biodegradable packing peanuts are plant-based and made from organic starch. They are toxic-free and dissolve on contact with water.
Don't worry. This is completely normal for candles made from all natural soy wax. The performance of that candle is not affect.
There are two methods that we typically recommend. The first is placing the container in the freezer until the wax hardens. Then remove the wax by cracking it into smaller pieces with a screwdriver. (Please use caution when handling sharp tools). The second method involves pouring boiling water into the container. As the wax melts, it floats to the surface of the water, which can then be removed after it has cooled down. You may need to repeat the melting with boiling water step several times until all wax has been removed from the bottom. Any residual wax left in the container can be washed away with warm soapy water. The wax that is removed from the container should be discarded into garbage.

Due to the nature of our products, we do not accept returns or exchanges. However, we will happily exchange or refund products that are damaged during shipping. Please contact us at hello@theorycandleco.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and photographic proof of the damage with 48 hours of receiving the package. Customers are responsible for all shipping charges for the return. Please see Return Policy for more details.
We do not accept returns for exchanges on gift cards, sale items, custom made items, or purchases made over 30 days.
All of our candles are handcrafted in small batches. We are working diligently to keep up with demand. The best way to know when items come back in stock is to sign up for our newsletter. Not only will you get first access to restocked items, but also new releases, sales, and other exciting announcements.
